As Alan spends most of his summer evenings playing “pub landlord” in the Broomhill Manor Guest bar, it’s great to know that even our young guests appreciate it! So much so, that one young guest (let’s call “him” Oliver) has put “his” appreciation into writing with our very first Guest Blog – “Oliver loves”! Read why!
OLIVER LOVES……. at Broomhill Manor

So here goes… Oliver loves:
getting up at 6.30am (what, really?!) to avoid the traffic jams on the way to Broomhill Manor
looking for Penguin Cottage!
the best new bar game of all time….. guessing the number of packets of crisps in the basket on the bar. Whoever knew there would be 42 bags in there?!
the pint of lager on the top shelf of the bar…. Ask Alan about that one!
the bar…… are you seeing there is a bit of a theme here?!
eating the “welcome” scones – but strangely without the jam and cream!
(Editor’s note: this is what you might call a wild goose – or penguin – chase; most of the cottages at Broomhill Manor ARE named after birds. However, there is not a cottage named after a penguin!)
(Editor’s note: for any other young visitors wanting to play this game, there aren’t ALWAYS 42 bags in there!!)
Besides visiting the bar, there are lots of other things that “Oliver loves” about Broomhill – the indoor and outdoor pools, pony rides and playing tennis. Oh, and writing blogs of course!

August tends to get booked up quickly but once the schools go back, it’s less busy and you can book a short break (minimum 3 nights) during September and October. All the facilities are available – including the heated indoor pool (the outdoor pool is usually open till mid September), horse riding, tennis court, Jacuzzi, gym, sauna, bar (of course!) and snooker room, Under 6’s playroom, table tennis, pool and table football.
