The all-weather family facilities at Broomhill Manor, including the heated swimming pool, gym with sauna, games rooms, treatment room, bar, tennis and horse riding means there is something for all the family to do. There are also lots of things going on in and around Bude for you to combine a festive break in a luxury cottage with some great family days out.
One “mustn’t miss” event for visitors to Bude is the traditional Christmas Day Swim which takes place at Crooklets beach. Anticipation builds as locals and visitors alike gather ready for the prompt 11am klaxon. It is the biggest event of its kind in Cornwall (possibly the UK?) and is the major fund raiser for Bude Surf Life Saving Club. Everyone should experience the Christmas day swim at least once – even if you just go to watch!
Enjoy the spectacle as you sip steaming hot chocolate (or something a little stronger!) followed by a 20 minute walk back to Broomhill (maybe via the Preston Gate?) to add the finishing touches to your lunch!
