GAS BARBEQUE INSTRUCTIONS

GAS BARBEQUE INSTRUCTIONS at Broom Hill Manor Self catering cott

Gas barbecues don’t require any lighting materials except their gas fuel. Compared to charcoal, they are easier to light, but it’s important to get the process right to make sure that you reach the optimum temperature for grilling.
This is the best way to heat up your gas grill for the perfect barbecue:
Ensure the bbq is connected to the gas cylinder. Turn the switch on the gas cylinder valve to show the red flame symbol facing up or if your bbq only has a lever, push it up. (Please remember to turn the gas off after you have finished with the bbq).

Turn the front/first controller to ‘high’ (towards the 9 if it were a clockface) and wait two to three seconds for the gas to accumulate in the ignition chamber.
Next, press the igniter button. The burner should start burning immediately the first or second time you press it.
NB Never let the gas accumulate for more than ten seconds before igniting. Should this happen, turn off the gas with the bbq controls, let the gas disperse and then try again. Only light one bar at a time.
Now close the lid and preheat the barbecue to the desired temperature. Place your food on the cooking grate.
Adjust the gas supply to the burners to the temperature specified in the recipe and required for the cooking method.
